Stefano Corso – Photographer

Romano. My work is visually influenced by photographers such classics as Elliott Erwitt and Robert Doisneau.

My personal interpretation of reality, in an ironic and surreal production has lead to a strongly characterized by solitary human presence within architectural structures obligations: the detached gaze returns the privilege of a neutral, in which man and his environment are elements that coexist, interact and mutually compared.

In the last five years I split my time between Rome, Paris, Berlin and New York metropolitan observing the scenery and portraying him through the lens. My works have been used for the covers of various publications in Italy and abroad, in 2007 and 2009, two of them have received honorable mention at the International Photography Awards (IPA) in 2010 and a photograph has been appointed Photo of the Year by the FWA – Favourite Website Awards. I have organized several collective exhibition in Rome, as well as having directed two videos Photography – “Empty Spaces” (2007) and the music clip “Blue” with Elettronoir (2009) – and has worked as Director of Photography on short photographic “Nothing is as it seems “(directed by Gianni and Marco Catani Gallo, 2010-2011). In 2010 I founded 42mm (http://www.42mm.it), Cultural Association of Photographic Arts, which aims to support and promote this particular art form. Currently my business is divided between street photography, reportage, experimentation, teaching through workshops and courses, and collaborations with various clients including the Public Administration Forum and Coldiretti. Some of my works are for sale in an exclusive limited edition and signed at the Byline Photo Gallery in Milan.
